Western Reserve Controls

Western Reserve Controls, Inc. (WRC) is a supplier of "blue collar electronics" i.e. Open Architecture I/O, data acquisition subsystems, I/O components and products to the industrial controls industry. WRC markets across the US and in 20 countries worldwide. WRC products expand the economical choice of I/O solutions available for computer based systems, programmable controllers, distributed control systems, or stand alone control systems.

Opto-Coupled Discrete I/O Modules
A wide selection of input and output modules provide just the performance you need for your applications.
Mounting Boards for Discrete I/O Modules
Mounting options include the traditional panel mount swaged stand off as well as the convenient DIN-rail mounting board.
Analog Signal Conditioning
Whether your analog application calls for maximum flexability, low cost, or high performance, you'll find it in WRC's broad line of analog signal conditioners.
Solid State Relays
Panel-mount solid-state relays are available for applications up to 75 amps and provide: LED Status indicator in AC units Photo Isolation Clear safety cover included on AC units 600 volt blocking voltage 4000 volt isolation Zero voltage turn-on on AC units Built-in snubber High surge capability 100% tested at rated current
SmartMux - A Versatile Family of I/O Solutions
The family consists of four styles with many choices within each style. The styles consist of: SmartMux (4pg/152K) for low-cost, versatile I/O applications supporting Allen-Bradley,s Remote I/O Link, Modbus, Optomux, and WRC's proprietary SmartMux protocols.
SmartMux-Lite (6pg/240K) for highly distributed, low-cost, low-point count DeviceNet solutions as well as special purpose models for high speed counting applications.
ISA-bus
WRC's line of PC-Based Data Collection Boards for the ISA-bus provide a number of economical options (3pg/276K): 1781-PXB241 provides a 24 point parallel interface between digital I/O and PC compatible computers. Each point can be independently configured for inputs or outputs. 1781-PXB481 provides for COS interrupts on the 48 point card. I/O is configured in blocks of 8. 1781-PXB721 is a 72 point card where the points are configured in groups of 8. 1781-PXB1201 is a 120 point card where the points are configured in groups of 8.
WRC-CANX
WRC-CANX CAN Bus Extenders extend CAN Bus networks such as DeviceNet, SDS, and OpenCAN Part B. WRC's Bus Extenders extend the cable length without having to sacrifice network speed by providing an isolated extender operating at the network speed effectively multiplying the allowed network cable length.
