Challenge:
A client needs to control the feed length for a printing and labeling operation. The press requires input from the operator and is exposed to heat, paper dust, ink and grease.
Solution:
A step motor is attached to the feed roll. A gearbox is added to ensure proper inertial matching of load to motor. The step motor controller includes drive amplification and position control. An industrial operator interface provides an easy-to-read display in a demanding environment.
