Pressing/Force Control

Typical Applications
Pressing bearings
Ball bearings onto shafts
Sleeve bearings into housings
Inserting pems
Snapping together plastic parts

Challenge:
Precise and repeatable force control.
Detect if bearing is missing, pressed correctly, or cockeyed.
Programmable force.
Protect mechanics.
Ability to press until an input is made, distance is reached, or time delay is achieved.
Ability to fire an output when the specified current is reached.

Solution:
A servomotor with control can provide consistent control of pressing applications, with force measured by motor current, or by a force transducer for more precise measurement. Bearings are pressed with precisely the force you desire. By determining how a pressing move ends, the control simplifies your machine solution by detecting when a bearing is not pressed correctly. This error detection and handling allows you to program solutions to these events, such as reloading a bearing if it was missing or alerting an operator if the bearing goes in cockeyed.
